Laura Zizzo BES, JD, Founder and CEO, Mantle314 Inc.

Laura Zizzo is a lawyer and strategic advisor with over a decade of experience leading organizations towards a low-carbon and climate-adapted future through the application of law and policy. Laura started her legal career with a prominent Bay Street law firm before founding the first law firm in Canada focused on climate change in 2009. She is a frequent writer and speaker on the move to the low carbon economy and is a leading voice on the legal imperative to adapt to climate change. Laura holds a degree in Environmental Studies (BES) from the University of Waterloo and a law degree (JD) from University of Toronto.


Joy Williams P.Eng., CAIA, MASc, Senior Advisor, Mantle314 Inc.

Joy Williams has spent most of her professional career in and around environment issues, particularly climate change. She is effective at communicating different perspectives, particularly what investors are looking for from their investment companies. Her time working on behalf of companies trying to understand how to navigate climate challenges and, most recently, with large asset owners who are driving the climate reporting has fueled her insights. She is currently the Chair of the Decarbonization Advisory Panel of the New York State Common Retirement Fund and is a Professional Engineer of Ontario and a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst.


Julie Tartt BSc, Senior Advisor, Mantle314 Inc.

Julie Tartt brings eighteen years of climate, energy and environmental consulting experience, providing a wide range of services to public and private sector clients across Canada, the US and formerly in the UK. Early in her career she specialized in environmental impact assessments for natural gas pipelines as well as environmental auditing/management at pipeline construction sites in the UK. In 2003, Julie returned to Canada and joined ICF’s Canadian Climate Change group where she built her extensive experience interpreting climate-related policies, plans and regulations in the Canadian context.


Anton Tabuns MES, JD, Senior Advisor, Mantle314 Inc.

Anton Tabuns is a lawyer with experience in environmental law, permitting matters, and due diligence on corporate transactions and a dedication to addressing climate issues. Anton received his Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, and his Masters in Environmental Studies from York University in 2011. He has practiced as Associate General Counsel, with a focus on environmental and ESG matters, at a Bay Street private equity firm and has worked at Willms & Shier Environmental Lawyers LLP, one of Canada’s premier environmental law boutiques. He was also part of an international legal team pursuing the enforcement of a multi-billion dollar environmental judgement in numerous countries.


Kevin Quinlan BA, MUrb, Senior Advisor, Mantle314 Inc.

Kevin Quinlan Kevin has extensive experience shaping and implementing public policy. During ten years of working in the Mayor of Vancouver’s office, including serving as Chief of Staff to the Mayor, he helped implement an ambitious urban environmental agenda. He oversaw bold political action on climate change including the implementation of the Renewable City Strategy, which outlines how Vancouver can shift off of fossil fuels by 2050; the launch of Vancouver’s first green bond; a neighbourhood energy strategy; and incorporation of climate adaptation into long-term capital planning.
